At Harrington Players the drama offstage seems more dramatic than onstage. The action zips along in this full length romantic comedy brim full of theatrical characters and witty dialogue. Faced with crumbling finances the group gamble that the Jane Austen name will bring in the crowds as they stage their own adaptation of Persuasion. But will the production ever make it to the opening night as rehearsals are dogged by one drama after another? As we switch between rehearsals and real life the distinction becomes increasingly blurred. Will there be an Austen like happy ending or is it the final curtain for Harrington Players?
